Connie Chiume (born 5 June 1952) is a Malawi-descending South African actress. She is well known for her appearances in the movies Black Panther, Black Is King and Blessers, as well as Zone 14 and Rhythm City on television.

She began acting in her earliest works, such as Porgy and Bess, Ipi Ntombi, and Little Shop of Horrors, after moving to Greece in 1977. In 1989, after returning to South Africa, she appeared in Inkom’ Edla Yodwa, a TV series. In that series, she played the role of ‘Thembi’. She received the Connie Avanti award at the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTA) festival for Best Actress in a Drama Series.

She played the part of ‘Stella Moloi’ in 2005 in the SABC1 drama series Zone 14, where she received a Golden Horn award. She continued to play the lead role until 2010, with the series becoming very successful. During the 3rd SAFTA, she also won the Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama. She appeared in 2015 in a motherly role as ‘Mamokete Khuse’ in the soap opera Rhythm City. In South Africa, the show became highly successful.

In 2006, in stage performances such as You Strike The Woman and You Strike The Rock, she played the lead role. She played the part of ‘Mam’Sonto Molefe’ in the television drama series Gomora in 2020. She also starred in another television series, Black Is King, the same year. She appeared as a fussy mother in the series. She was honored in October 2020 with her first nomination for the Feather Award.
