Onkgopotse JJ Tabane is Sgwili Media Group\’s communications expert and CEO. He is also a Sunday Times and The Star columnist, and the author of Let\’s Talk Frankly.

He serves as the non-executive chairman and chairman of the Indalo Yethu Trust of the Utembezi Tourism Group. He serves as Tshirundu Communications (Pty) Ltd. Executive Director. Mr. Tabane served as the president of Indalo Yethu T T.

Tabane has served as Director of Corporate Affairs for Altron Incorporated as a communications expert. He has served as Vice President of South African Airways, Communications & Government Liaison, Head of Communications for the South African Chamber of Mines, Head of the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, Head of Communications for the Department of Environment and Tourism, and Head of Communications for the Sustainable Development World Summit.

He was a member of the 2010 Communications Task Team and the Bokamoso Investment Trust for Youth. He was the Non-Executive Director of the Tourism Board of Johannesburg and the Tourism Authority of Gauteng. He was a member of the Council of North West University. He was the Ministerial Speaker of the Provincial and Local Government, Constitutional Development and Environmental Affairs Departments. At World Summit on Sustainable Development, he won the Communicator of the Year Award in 2002.

Tabane holds a BProc degree from the University of the Western Cape in 1998, a BA degree from the University of the North in 1992, and an MA in SA Politics and Political Economy from the Metropolitan University of Nelson Mandela in 2004. Tabane is also a Wits University PhD Candidate in Media Studies.
