In a new telenovela titled Lingashoni, actors Patrick Mofokeng, Thuli Thabethe, Thato Molamu, and Muvhango’s Liteboho Molise will star.
It’s unclear whether Patrick Mofokeng, who plays Mlungisi on Scandal, will leave the show permanently for his new role; however, Liteboho Molise, who plays Tebogo Mukwevho, is rumored to be leaving Muvhango.
Stained Glass TV’s latest novella will premiere on DSTV’s 1Magic channel 103 on Monday, March 22nd at 7:20 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Stained Glass TV has created the most popular show in the world, Uzalo. eHostela, Durban Gen, and Ifalakhe are just a few of the shows they’ve made.
In a quote, Zodwa Zuma of Stained Glass TV described the show as follows:
We wanted to tell a story that mirrored the lives of most South Africans through this telenovela. Family drama, marriage, betrayal, scandalous affairs, and crime will all be themes in this telenovela. Mandla regaining his memory is the very last thing anyone wants. Can Mandla recall what happened on the day he lost his memory?”
Patrick Mofokeng, also known as Mandla, is a businessman who returns to life after being presumed dead for ten years. After a decade of memory loss, Mandla will return to her former life as a poor farm worker.
M-Director Net’s of Local Entertainment Channels, Nomsa Philiso, had this to say about the show:
With twists and turns that will explore the idea of family, blended family drama, high stakes, the dark underworld of crime, and suspense that will keep viewers engaged with every episode, this story has all the makings of a hit telenovela series.
We’ve found that our loyal 1Magic fans have grown accustomed to thrilling stories and top-notch talent. As a consequence, we’re expecting a thriller in which these two elements clash with political influence and crime.
Following the assassination of a famous politician, Joburg mayor Robert Nondumo (Luzuko Nkqeto), a wealthy ‘tenderpreneur’ named Mandla Cele (Patrick Mofokeng) goes on the run before surviving a murder attempt that causes him to lose his memory.
Mandla begins a new life as Themba after being discovered by Seipati Moeketsi (Liteboho Molise), a farmworker, and her two children along a riverbank. Mandla marries Seipati and lives happily on the farm for the next ten years, before an incident causes him to have memories of who he really is: Mandla Cele.
